Rare Antique Early Victorian Bristol Blue Glass Rolling Pin. These were origunally used to store salt and hung by the fire. Later they were used to store tea. in the 1820s sailers would give painted versions in gold or enamel to their sweethearrs. This one says forget me not. These would be hung up as good luck tokens to be taken down, filled with water and used to make pastry for the wedding feast. The pastry was meant to bring good luck to those that ate it. VGC. The paint/enamel has worn, not surprising as it is very old. The gold cord/ ribbon is more recent Would make a great wedding gift
