ANTIQUE ONE-OFF BLACKSMITH-MADE, SIGNED SCORP-LIKE SCRAPING TOOL -3 1/4" EDGE
$65.00
An antique blacksmith-made iron scorp- or in-shave-like scraping tool, with a 3 1/4" long blade with a lightly curved out-cannel edge, and a depth of 10" from the blade edge to the back of the grips. Its a one-off, with many possible uses in woodworking and other trades, includes pig bristle shaving, and in preparing hides for tanning. There is a maker's name, C. Clouthe, stamped into the front of the blade. It is in very good condition, with some very light pitting, and a couple of small chips to the edge. Polishing the blade-back before re-sharpening should solve both those issues. The grips are in good condition.
